PCG CONSULTING GROUP INTERNATIONAL formally launches its Community Engagement initiative this month, participating with an in-person job fair presented by Commissioner Deer and Lawndale Christian Development Corp, hosting a virtual Job Fair, and presenting its signature Historic Narratives Series. Virtual presentations from present-day history makers and outstanding members of various communities are scheduled throughout the month to engage, inspire, and inform the public. Events are open to the public who register. Event links and job fair information can be found on the PCG Facebook page.
“We look forward to producing a captivating array of diverse and inclusive content year-round. Various PCG programming will be co-hosted along with our community engagement program partner, Evolent Health, and others,” shared PCG Managing Director of Marketing and Community Event Series Producer Anita Summers. The Black History Month PCG Historic Narrative Series will include international filmmaker and historian Pemon Rami, theater, film producer and director Maséqua Myers; artist and sculptor Gerald Griffin, and other Chicago residents all of whom have become national and international history makers.
Mr. Griffin will present “Historic Narratives in Visual Arts," offering a virtual tour of his art gallery, and historic cultural figures, with a selection of his poetry. Gerald works in a variety of mediums and styles, from emotionally intense figures in urban environment, dynamic geometrical shapes and hidden layers of underlying images within a unique cubist composition, to historically provocative scenes from the Black experience in America that both uplift and haunt the viewer. His work conveys a sense of longing and acceptance, while at the same time his bold use of color and strong compositional elements convey the intense beauty the artist sees in the world around him. People from all walks of life collect his art, including former President Obama.
“Historic Narratives in Activism & The Performing Arts," will culminate the series Monday, February 28, 2022 at 6p.m. Central Standard Time, with a 1.5-hour presentation and brief Q&A session. “It's an honor to have Ms. Myers and Mr. Rami close out the first month of our virtual community engagement events,” stated Tom Numbere, Jr., PCG president.
